Ged Davis, MD, World Economic Forum
I had the most extra-ordinary experience this thursday - I met Ged at the INDEX: launch of awards 2007. Ged is in the Jury and I am in the Board. What is WEF and Ged doing in CPH? Well, I hope Kigge Hvid, CEO of INDEX: will chat to us about that. Kigge will be on W7 to Wharton. www.indexaward.dk
Ged Davis is a rare species. Sharp in scenarios and a background from Shell and a fresponsible, intelligent view on the future of this planet. The executive of the future. We talked for a long time - here are just the first couple of minutes to give you an impression. I hope to see Ged here at the LinKS Blog in the future. Ged Davis, CEO WEF
Last year 6 Danish people went to DAVOS and Anders Fogh Rasmussen flew in for a short while - not excactly an overwhelming Danish presence. I wonder if we should consider checking out DAVOS World Economic Forum, annual meeting, January 24-28 2007? www.weforum.org.

Hi!
I meet Ged at World Economic Forum annual meeting in January 2006, where I was invited to participate as an expert in Design strategy.
The reason for the invitation was that WEF had defined five sub themes defining five critical challenges to the world community:
- The emergence of China and India,
- The changing economic landscape,
- Adjusting to new mindsets and changing attitudes,
- The creation of future jobs,
- Addressing regional identities and struggles.
The following three sub themes on the other hand highlight how business
and institutions must respond.
- Building trust in public and private institutions
- Effective leadership in managing global risks
- Finding solutions through innovation, creativity and design methods.
Ged from World Economic Forum (motto: improving the state of the world) and I from INDEX: (motto: design to Improve Life) hit it off due to our mutual interest in finding better solutions, which lead to an invitation from INDEX: to Ged to join INDEX: international jury.
Ged is now part of our jury that recently meet in Copenhagen.
Our jury is responsible for selecting the 100 top nominations and the final five winners among the many, many nominations from the whole world sent to INDEX: Award. The objective of the selection is to present a coherent image of the commercial and human potential in contemporary Design to Improve Life.
Further more our jurors are the professional design advisers who assist us in developing the programme of INDEX: 2007. The programme will comprise:
INDEX: Award: The world’s biggest design award worth €500.000 to be presented August 24th 2007 at Copenhagen City Hall.

Putting a legendary but bit old vehicle back in shape takes more than a new battery and a lick of paint. It demands a full-bore refit, and that’s exactly what J.J. Abrams has given “Star Trek”. ie: lawrence of arabia movie
Paced at warp speed with exceptional action sequences rendered brilliantly and with a cast and crew so expert that all the well known saga participants are instantly identifiable, the film gives Paramount Pictures a new step of life on its franchise.
Fans of the “Star Trek” saga will be glad to see Capt. Kirk (Chris Pine), Spock (Zachary Quinto), Bones (Karl Urban) and all the others in the early part of their lives as the Starship Enterprise takes its maiden voyage. The picture is so much fun, however, that it will draw in moviegoers just looking for a interesting ride. Watch it we are marshall video
! The boxoffice should show up gigantic returns.
Abrams and screenwriters Roberto Orci & Alex Kurtzman keep the plot plain stupid but hit all the right notes and some places that will bring a smile of recognition. Industrial Light + Magic once again raises the level on FX, and Daniel Mindel’s cinematography and Scott Chambliss’ production design are top-notch.
